Merkel, Greece and the European Union

Merkel, Greece and the European Union

Has the European Union arrived where the US Union was around the late 1850′s just before the civil war (1861-1865). Britain was behind the Union break up . Lincoln didn’t want a World War, but he went to war because they signed a perpetual union. States couldn’t come and go as they pleased. That’s why they made it a perpetual union. Once you sign, that’s it. You don’t have to be best friends but you can never leave. It keeps the peace. If Greece were to leave the Union, would it leave Europe as a whole vulnerable?  After Greece, who? But I’m not a historian and I hope I’m reading it all wrong. But if  “history repeats itself,” this is definitively a repeat.

So, should the EU let Greece leave or  tell it:   “fix it. you’re not leaving.”
